As a Cubs fan, who used to dread the speed of Billy Hamilton every time the Reds were in town, I’ve always known the guy was crazy fast. If you haven’t seen him play before, just take my word for it. He’s an absolute burner.
Or don’t take my word for it …
Stolen Bases per Season:
2014: 56
2015: 57
2016: 58
2017: 59
2018: 34
Hamilton has stolen all those bases over the years, despite a CAREER OBP beneath .300. Again, you get it: he’s fast.
But even though he’s extremely fast, and even though this ball was hit deep to center field, and even though the center fielder didn’t get the ball in right away, I can’t believe he scored on a sac fly from SECOND BASE:

As you can see, despite all of those tiny things breaking in his favor, he still got in just past the tag. That is truly remarkable and pretty damn fun to watch.
