Listen, I’m a Cubs fan. And there shouldn’t be any audible gasps at that revelation. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy or respect brilliant baseball in any form and from any team when I see it.
… but that comes with one caveat: The St. Louis Cardinals.
I don’t like the Cardinals. I don’t respect the Cardinals. I’m just all around sick of the Cardinals. But I also have to pay my bills. So when the boss-man says let’s do a quick Baseball Is Fun post on this freakin’ phenomenal play by Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong, I do what he says.
Enjoy. Or don’t.

Okay. Dang.
I’d love not to toss some respect on his name, but that was one fantastic play. Not only does Wong make the diving stop well on the shortstop side of the bag, he executes a perfect glove flip to start a bang-bang double-play.
So this one time – ONLY – I’ll say … not bad.
