Javy Báez Gets the Totally Normal Out at Second Base

Baseball Is Fun

I’ve been covering Javy Báez highlights since he came up with the Cubs back in 2014, so I’ve pretty much seen it all by now (not that it ever gets old).

Today’s installment — a little between-the-legs flip to second base — won’t top any of his personal best, buuuuuuut that’s only because he’s overloaded with highlight reel plays along the infield. I mean, who else finds a way to finish plays like this?

Knocking it down was impressive enough, but to keep your composure, locate the ball, and make a perfect flip – in time – between your legs using your glove for the out at second base?! Come on. That’s a Javy Báez special.
