Heckler Tells Giancarlo Stanton He’s Overrated … and You Know What Happens Next
I understand heckling. Really, I do. Done correctly, it can be some light fun between the fans and road players who know this is part of the game. Don’t be a jerk or incessant about it, and you’re good to go.
But here’s the thing. If you’re going to heckle someone about being “overrated,” I’m really not sure Giancarlo Stanton is the dude I’d pick:
Heckler in the stands: “Stanton you’re overrated!”

Stanton, who homered again later in the game, is the single hardest-hitting batter in all of baseball. He is many thing, but overrated is not one of them, at least not when he’s healthy.
On the year, Stanton is hitting .277/.311/.527 with a 144 wRC+. He is, in my view, appropriately rated. And that heckler is appropriately chastened.
