Javy Báez and His Brother-in-Law Jose Berrios Had a Wonderfully Chaotic, Must-Watch At Bat

Baseball Is Fun

It’s already kinda wild when Tigers shortstop Javy Báez is facing Blue Jays righty Jose Berrios, because the two are brothers-in-law. You *know* they want to get the best of each other.

But this latest match-up was as wonderfully chaotic as it gets. There’s really no other way to describe it. Just watch and enjoy:

So you had not one, not two, but THREE rocket shots from Báez that just went foul. The first wasn’t quite close to a homer, but the second two were way gone if they were just a touch more fair.

Then you had Báez, perhaps distracted by the wildness of the three foul balls, thinking he’d just walked on a 2-2 ball. Then, for good measure, you had Báez actually walking on a slider just off the plate, a pitch I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him not swing at.

Seriously. Just watch the at bat if you scrolled on by. It’s fun. Baseball is fun, after all.
