One of the most intimidating aspects of little league baseball, pitching in particular, was the fear of plunking an opposing hitter. Let’s be honest, it hurts, and you don’t want to be that guy or girl.
Today’s dose of wholesomeness on the diamond was courtesy of the Little League World Series, where a pitcher for the Texas East team hit a batter from the Oklahoma team in the head with a pitch. The pitcher was visibly shaken up by the incident.
Thankfully the hitter who was hit in the head was not hurt, and after he noticed the pitcher visibly upset on the mound, he made his way out there to give him a hug and reassure him that he’s going to be all right.
I love wholesome baseball.
