SOMEONE GET THIS MAN SOME OXYGEN!
Kannapolis Cannon Ballers pitcher Bowen Plagge pulled off one of the cooler double plays you’ll see in baseball on Tuesday afternoon in a contest between the Cannon Ballers (Low-A affiliate of the White Sox) and Carolina Mudcats (Low-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers).
With one out and a runner at third in the bottom of the eighth inning, Plagge’s delivery to Mudcats’ hitter Jesus Chirinos was hit to Cannon Ballers’ second baseman Andy Atwood who fired a throw to third baseman Wes Kath to get Jace Avina in a pickle. After a short rundown, Plagge chased Avina back to third base, laid the tag on Avina for the second out, and then turned his attention to Chirinos, who was making his way to third base. Plagge then chased Chirinos back to second base and placed the tag on him for the final out of the inning!
Take a look for yourself!
