Dansby Swanson Just Made a Ridiculous Catch

Baseball Is Fun

The Atlanta Braves are trying to avoid going down two games to their division rival Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS, and shortstop Dansby Swanson is doing everything he can to help.

The catch he just made in the 6th inning of a scoreless game … man … it’s really good:

Tracking the ball that far from shortstop, running straight backwards, picking it back up and then making the catch over the shoulder? That’s a heckuva play.

Swanson, 28, is coming off the best season of his career, which was well-timed, as he’s headed into free agency after this season for the first time. You have to assume the Braves really want to re-sign him, but we’ll see. For now, he’ll just focus on making more plays like that and trying to keep the Braves in this thing.
