Jazz Chisholm Jr. Gets the 2023 MLB The Show Cover

Baseball Is Fun

The 2023 MLB The Show cover dropped today, and I’m thinking the cover athlete is going to catch a lot of folks by surprise.

It’s not Shohei Ohtani or Aaron Judge or Julio Rodriguez – it’s Miami Marlins second-baseman-turned-center-fielder, Jazz Chisholm Jr.:

The last five cover athletes for The Show were Ohtani, Fernando Tatis Jr., Javy Baez, Bryce Harper, and Aaron Judge. Tatis’s indiscretions notwithstanding (well, and Javy’s 2022 struggles), it’s quite a group to live up to.

Chisholm is a fun, young player, though, and he’s easy to root for. You’ve gotta figure, when you’re talking about a video game keeping things light and fun is kinda the point.
