Ridiculous Catcher Catch Off of a Seriously Accidental Foul Ball
It’s no secret that I am a particularly big fan of ridiculous catcher plays. There’s something about the shortness of reaction time, the gear flying everywhere, and/or the surprising athleticism you get to see.
Oh, and also, often there’s some sheer dumb luck involved. Combine it all, man. It’s great.
Like this catch right here, where it took the flukiest of foul balls to even give the catcher a chance:
First of all, just a tremendous catch right there. Spotting the ball that quickly, and then gloving it. Nicely done, young man.
Second of all, the batter’s reaction. Perfect “are you effing kidding me” body language.
