Over at ESPN, Kevin Seifert shared an updated rundown of everything you need to know about the NFL’s Franchise Tag in 2017.
But the most important update was from John Clayton, who provided the potential tag values for each position for the upcoming season.

Obviously, that $15.8 million number is of the utmost importance to Alshon Jeffery and the Chicago Bears this offseason. It represents the third highest franchise tag total for any position and the second highest on the offensive side of the ball.
Jeffery, who played under the non-exclusive version of the tag in 2016, would receive an 8.22% raise of $1.2 million if tagged for the second consecutive offseason.
At this point, it is unclear whether or not the Bears will go down that road again. It’s a complex situation for the Bears, who are rebuilding their roster, but also face a win-now situation in Year 3 of the Ryan Pace-John Fox regime. Jeffery, who is an upper-tier free agent (who will have plenty of options to choose from if he makes it onto the open market) in this class, will be a pricey addition no matter what team he lands on in 2017.
Wednesday marked the first day of Franchise Tag season and the Bears have until 3 p.m. on March 1 to make that decision.
