Potential Future Bears Quarterback Watch: Jon Gruden’s QB Camp Returns to ESPN

Chicago Bears

Walking through the quarterback development process with Jon Gruden has been must-see programming since its inception, but the Chicago Bears being in the market for one of the top prospects makes it that much more intriguing.

ESPN announced that Gruden’s QB Camp will return for its eighth season, and the most important one as far as Bears fans are concerned as the team is in the hunt for a new signal caller in 2017 and beyond.

Gruden’s quarterback class is a star-studded affair, headlined by Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, who might be the most heralded prospect Gruden has put his hands on for the series. Watson is a national championship winner, two-time Heisman Trophy finalist, two-time winner of the Manning Award and Dave O’Brien Award,  and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner in 2016.

The rest of the group is intriguing, too, with potential first-round picks Mitch Trubisky (North Carolina) and DeShone Kizer (Notre Dame), fringe first-rounder (and climbing) Pat Mahomes (Texas Tech), Senior Bowl standout Nathan Peterman (Pittsburgh), dual threat Joshua Dobbs (Tennessee), and the University of Miami’s all-time leading passer Brad Kaaya.

All things considered, the coach who led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl XXXVII win will have his hands full with this particular class.

New episodes of Gruden’s QB Camp begin on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
