Having been cut loose by the Chicago Bears, and not finding the right situation out there to extend his quarterbacking career, Jay Cutler is officially moving on to another role: broadcaster and analyst with Fox.
NEWS. It's official. Jay Cutler has been hired by @nflonfox . Will join Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis in the booth this season.

It will be very interesting to see how Cutler’s personal plays – and evolves – in the broadcast booth. I don’t think it would be a stretch to suggest that this is not the path most saw Cutler going in his post-playing days, but it’s not like he doesn’t know the sport.
For what it’s worth, Adam Schefter reports that the pickings were slim if Cutler wanted to keep playing at this time:
Before deciding to go to FOX, Jay Cutler had real discussions with Jets, and less-promising ones with Texans. Cutler opted for analyst role.
