If all goes right for Victor Cruz in 2017, he will bring his celebratory dancing to a Soldier Field end zone near you:
New #Bears WR Victor Cruz has an agreement in principle with CHI. May not actually sign for a few days. But a fresh opportunity for a reboot

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Chicago Bears have an agreement in principle with free agent wide receiver Victor Cruz. The Bears, who hosted Cruz on a two-day visit last week, faced some stiff competition in their attempt to add Cruz to their mix of wide receivers, as the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars also showed interest in the former Pro Bowler.
Cruz broke out in 2011 with an 82-catch season in which he gained 1,536 yards and scored nine touchdowns for the New York Giants. He followed that with 86 catches, 1,092 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.
Injuries have slowed down Cruz, who will turn 31 in November. But if he can recapture any of the magic that made him one of Eli Manning’s top targets, he will be a welcome addition to a receivers room in search of depth and production.
UPDATE:
We have agreed to terms with WR Victor Cruz on a one-year contract.
