The Chicago Bears quickly filled the roster spot vacated by offensive lineman Eric Kush (who went on season-ending injured reserve on Monday) by signing undrafted free agent Brandon Greene.
Greene, who played his college ball at Alabama from 2012 to 2016, spent some time at offensive line and along the Crimson Tide’s defense. However, he was mainly used as a blocking tight end.
Listed at 6-5, 295, Greene joins 15 other linemen who are currently in camp. The Bears seem pretty deep along the line, but the team really can’t have enough depth with Kush going down for the year and Kyle Long slowly rounding into form.
Greene is one of three undrafted free agent offensive linemen brought in by the Bears to compete in training camp. The others are center Mitchell Kirsch and guard Dieugot Joseph. And we can’t forget about tackle Jordan Morgan, who was the Bears’ final selection of the 2017 NFL Draft.
