Kevin White Might Be Done For The Season With A Collarbone Injury
Kevin White’s injury woes continue to pile up, and the latest could be a season-ending injury.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports the Chicago Bears fear White has suffered a broken collerbone, which would result in season-ending surgery. White walked off the field after bringing in his second catch of the day with 9:43 left in the fourth quarter with an apparent shoulder injury. Shortly after visiting the injury tent on the sideline, White was ruled out for the rest of the game. And depending on how serious things are after further testing, he could be out for the season.
It’s the latest in an unlucky run of injuries for White that began upon his entry into the NFL. GM Ryan Pace made White his first ever draft pick, but the West Virginia product missed his entire rookie year with a leg injury, then was out of action for all but four games in 2016. White made it through training camp and preseason without suffering an injury, and figured to be in a spot to make the most of additional playing time and potential targets after Cameron Meredith’s season-ending ACL injury. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s in the cards for White.
White, who was drafted with the seventh overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, has been unavailable for 28 of his first 33 NFL games – a number that stands to grow if the Bears’ worst fears are confirmed.
