Week 1 is full of surprises and the Chicago Bears weren’t going to be left out.
Facing 2nd-and-goal from the 4-yard-line, offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains dug deep into his bag of tricks and unearth a doozy of a play:
You wanted them on the field at the same time?
You got @JHowardx24 & @_Twenty8_ on the field at the same time!#ATLvsCHI #GoBears pic.twitter.com/23Pj2IC5cM— Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) September 10, 2017
A direct snap to Tarik Cohen out of the wildcat formation set up a handoff to Pro Bowl running back Jordan Howard, and thanks to a lead block from quarterback Mike Glennon, Howard scored the first touchdown of the Bears season. Now, THAT is how you put six points on the board.
And if you wondered why rookie running back Tarik Cohen was given the nickname “Chicken Salad” at North Carolina A&T, allow him to explain with this play, which set up the touchdown:

What a change of direction for the human joystick:
Play call: go this way.
Tarik Cohen: OK … actually, nah. pic.twitter.com/z8OFPvxJVA

If Cohen can stay healthy this year despite his smaller frame, that dude is going to be a whole lot of fun to watch.
