Watch Jordan Howard and the Bears Run Off With An OT Win – Set Up By Tarik Cohen’s Near TD

Chicago Bears

Jordan Howard left Sunday’s game twice with injuries, but came back in time to deliver the play of the game, and give the Bears their first win of the season:

Howard’s 19-yard run was a walk-off winner for the Chicago Bears, who pulled off an upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 23-17 overtime victory. For Howard, the touchdown score was his second of the day and capped off an afternoon where he ran for 138 yards on 23 carries. Howard’s 6.0 yards per carry average came one week after he averaged just 0.8 yards per rush in a Week 2 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The second-year Pro Bowl back has spent each of the last two weeks on the injury report because of a shoulder problem that stems from his first touchdown of the year in Week 1, but Howard insisted he was healthy entering Week 3. There were times it didn’t look like he was all that healthy, but he ran like a man out to prove otherwise.

And to think, the Bears almost won the game a few plays earlier when Tarik Cohen unleashed some video game moves on what looked to be a game-winning touchdown:

Had the touchdown call stood, Cohen’s 78-yard scamper would have gone down in Bears lore. Instead, his 36-yard run set up Howard’s game-winning score.

What an excellent (and ridiculous) win for the Bears, who are now 1-2 on the season.
