Chicago Bears cornerback Marcus Cooper was a late addition to the injury report with back spasms, which is an injury serious enough to keep him out of the lineup when Monday Night Football kicks off.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune tweets Cooper was ruled out for Monday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, meaning the Bears will be without four of their defensive starters from their Week 1 lineup. The timing couldn’t be worse for a Bears secondary that hasn’t hauled in an interception yet this season and will be facing the NFL’s top receiving tandem.
Willie Young was already going to be on the inactive list, so the Bears needed to add an edge defender to the mix. Undrafted free agent Isaiah Irving gets the call to the active roster, though how much playing time he receives in his first game remains to be seen.
