Wide Receive Trade! Bears Trade For Chargers Receiver Dontrelle Inman

Chicago Bears News, Chicago Bears Transactions

Help is on the way for quarterback Mitch Trubisky:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Bears have acquired wide receiver Dontrelle Inman from the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick. Inman has four years of NFL experience, having hauled in 107 passes for 1,463 yards, and seven touchdowns in 41 games.

The 2016 season was a breakout one for Inman, who checks in at 6-3, 205 pounds. Inman turned into a reliable target for Philip Rivers, catching 58 passes for 810 yards, and four touchdowns in the team’s final year in San Diego. He started all 16 games last season, but has just two catches and nine receiving yards in four games since moving to Los Angeles.

Inman was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars after playing his college ball at Virginia. He was a Grey Cup Champion with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in 2012, catching 50 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns. Inman spent two years in the CFL before latching on with the Chargers in January 2014.

Inman is making a little over $2.7 million this season, and is an unrestricted free agent after the year.

We’ll have more on Inman later as this story develops.
