That an appeal regarding Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension hasn’t been heard by the Supreme Court yet is a minor miracle at this point, but I wouldn’t put it past either side to push until it gets there.
As it stands, here is the latest turn regarding the six-game suspension that was originally handed down in August and has been overturned so many times, we have begun to lose count:
Injunction denied: Ezekiel Elliott’s 6-game suspension is back on.

For a moment, it looked like Elliott was going to face his suspension until a last-minute change of plans that came about when his injunction was upheld by another court. And that was just the latest example of the on-again, off-again ordeal which has seen the suspension handed down seven times and taken away on six occasions. Pro Football Talk’s Charean Williams writes Elliott’s case will be heard by an appellate court, but the Dallas Cowboys’ star running back will be suspended until then – which rules him out for the team’s next game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Court rulings have kept Elliott on the field and off the suspended list, but he might not be as fortunate to get an administrative stay as he did when he was made eligible to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.
Elliott’s 783 rushing yards rank second in the NFL behind only Kansas City’s Kareem Hunt, while his seven touchdowns are tied for the league lead with Los Angeles Rams lead back Todd Gurley.
