When a really good team hosts a really bad and injured team, the results are rarely pretty. And these results were as ugly as a pig wearing lipstick. (Actually, I could imagine that being kinda adorable, so maybe that metaphor is played out.)
It’s not like we didn’t expect something close to a bloodbath, and, sure enough, it was one mistake after another, with several of them rather embarrassing:

The offense couldn’t get anything going, the running game was non-existent, and the Eagles were generally clicking just fine on offense. Mitch Trubisky’s accuracy issues really showed up in this one. Even new kicker Cairo Santos missed his first attempt with the Bears.
The defense had, like, a couple nice plays? That’s about as far as I can go. Brighter days lie ahead, almost by definition.
I bet this kind of rushing game hasn’t happened for the Bears in a very long time …
