Danny Trevathan is officially off the injury report.
There were no limitations on the Chicago Bears linebacker during Thursday’s practice, which lines him up to return to the starting lineup where he could play a significant role against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Trevathan has missed the team’s last three games because of a calf injury suffered in the team’s Week 8 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Even though Trevathan played through the injury, it worsened after the game and has caused him to miss practice entirely in each of the last three weeks. That changed on Wednesday when Trevathan practiced for the first time since the team’s bye week. His presence in the middle of the Bears’ defense was missed, especially against quality offensive teams like the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
Joining Trevathan as full participants who were on the injury report are defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris (hamstring) and backup offensive lineman Tom Compton (ankle). While Trevathan is the headliner of the group, Robertson-Harris was a key special teams contributor and reserve defensive lineman. Compton is the Bears’ swing lineman and his return to health couldn’t have come at a better time.
That’s because left guard Josh Sitton was limited in practice. Sitton missed most of the team’s Week 12 loss to the Eagles with a concussion. Philadelphia’s defensive line pushed through Chicago’s protection, eliminating the running game and constantly pressuring quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Compton has two starts under his belt this season, so he’ll probably be in line to take Sitton’s spot in the lineup if he can’t give it a go on Sunday.
Cornerback Bryce Callahan (knee) was also limited in practice. Like Trevathan, Callahan hasn’t played since the Saints game either. Cre’von LeBlanc filled in admirably for Callahan against the Eagles and has played on at least 54 percent of the team’s defensive snaps since Week 8.
Three safeties sat out of practice altogether on Thursday, with starter Adrian Amos (hamstring) being the biggest name of the bunch. Backups Deon Bush (ankle) and DeAndre Houston-Carson (ankle) also joined Amos among non-participants. This group of walking wounded likely necessitated the Bears’ move to bring back Chris Prosinski into the mix. Deiondre’ Hall and Quintin Demps were also recently added to the practice group as they aim to return from injured reserve.
