The Chicago Bears avoided disaster and took advantage of a Cleveland Browns miscue en route to extending their lead.
Jordan Howard’s second touchdown of the afternoon gave the Bears a 13-3 lead in the third quarter.
Let’s take a look at Howard’s ninth rushing touchdown of the 2017 season:

The score was set up by a major gain by Benny Cunningham on a perfectly executed screen pass by Mitch Trubisky. Cunningham has two catches and 62 receiving yards, but let’s focus in on the first catch and scamper:

There hasn’t been much offense to speak of to this point, which makes sense considering we’re watching a matchup between two rookie quarterbacks who have a lot of growing up to do. HOWEVER, seeing that Howard has successfully found paydirt twice is an encouraging sign after his lackluster performance in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions.
Let’s see if the Bears defense can hold up their end of the bargain by continuing to stifle DeShone Kizer in the pocket.
