NFC Championship Pre-Gamin’: Vikings at Eagles – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Chicago Bears

Believe it or not, this scenario is still quite possible for Alshon Jeffery:

And a tip of the cap to Michael for wondering whether the Bears were part of the “we” Jeffery referred to in what turned out to be his last game with Chicago. For Jeffery and the Bears Eagles to reach the Super Bowl, they will need a better offensive showing than what was shown against the Falcons and a similar defensive outing.

The Falcons looked to have their act together after eliminating the Rams on Wild-Card Weekend. That didn’t last long as Atlanta was limited to 10 points and denied of what could have been a game-winning touchdown on the final drive because of a stifling Philadelphia defense. Meanwhile, the Eagles offense scored just enough to sneak into the NFC title game.

If not for one poorly timed blown coverage, the Eagles would be hosting the Saints and not the Vikings on championship weekend. Alas, Minnesota rode the wave of Stefon Diggs’ exhilarating walk-off touchdown all the way to a championship-game showdown against Philadelphia.

The Vikings and Eagles both had defenses that ranked in the top four in yards and points allowed, but the offenses that ranked in the top-10 didn’t look the part in the divisional round. Perhaps the under 39 could be the day’s safest play if you’re looking to add a little spice to your evening viewing.
