Close your eyes and imagine a scene where fireworks are shooting off in the distance as you wear a smile that spans from ear-to-ear because you just watched a satisfying Chicago Bears practice. Mitch Trubisky wowed you with throws, Allen Robinson impressed you with catches, and the defense did enough to give you that much more hope for the 2018 NFL season.
Believe it or not, that scenario isn’t as far-fetched as you might think.
The Bears released their training camp schedule on Thursday, and it features 11 practices that are open to the public at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. One of those practices will be unlike the others, as a practice scheduled for 7:10 p.m. on Saturday August 11 is the only night practice on the schedule. And if that isn’t enough to pique your interest, a fireworks show will follow the festivities. Fireworks on the practice field and in the sky … where do I sign up? Great question. And I have what I believe to be a fulfilling answer.
Just like last year, a ticket will be required for entry to Bears training camp practices. But don’t fret, the tickets are still free and you can get them here.
Here are the dates for the other 10 open practices at Olivet Nazarene University, which will open at 7:30 a.m., begin at 8:15 a.m., and close at 11:30 a.m.:
Each of the Bears’ open practices will have unique giveaways, such as pennants, headbands, mason jar tumblers, and cooling towels. Yeah, I have a feeling those cooling towels will be necessary for practices in July and August. You can call it a hunch.
