BEARS vs. SEAHAWKS: Week 2 Pre-Gamin’ – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

There were times the wait for Week 2 would never end, but we’ve made it. Frankly, I’m not sure I could’ve done it without you guys.

The Chicago Bears enter Week 2 coming off one of the most demoralizing losses in recent history. It was a painful defeat at the hands of the Green Bay Packers on multiple levels. Hurtful because the team coughed up what was a 17-0 halftime lead. Emotionally gut-wrenching because it happened in front of a national audience, on the road, and against a quarterback who has done nothing but torture the Bears throughout his career.

On the other sideline, you’ll find tonight’s opponents in a boat that Bears fans are all too familiar with. There are five Seattle Seahawks starters who are OUT for tonight’s game – more on that in a bit – including three Pro Bowl players at key positions. While the Bears and their fans can empathize with the plight of the Seahawks, now isn’t the time for it.

Now would be a good time for Chicago to re-establish what it had in the first half at Lambeau Field against a Seattle team coming off a road loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 1. The Seahawks struggled on both sides of the line of scrimmage in their regular season opener, which is something the Bears hope to exploit tonight. It was the Broncos’ top two running backs doing damage against Seattle’s defensive front, gaining 142 yards with an average of 4.7 yards per carry. On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks’ offensive line struggled to protect Russell Wilson, who was sacked six times. Somewhere, Khalil Mack is licking his chops as he prepares to make his Soldier Field debut wearing the home threads.

Assemble all your rowdy friends for Monday Night Football because kick-off is approaching.

Game Thread and Week 2 Preview

I could get used to these prime-time games, but if the Bears are to appear here again, it means they will have played their way into a late-season flex game. Anyway, your game thread is down in the comments, so let’s have some good, clean (safe-for-work) fun. And hopefully, we can get some good times rolling.
