Bears fans finally got their chance to give Brian Urlacher the love and adoration he deserved, and the Hall of Fame linebacker shared the love right back:
Urlacher’s playing career ended in 2012 during a Week 13 loss against the Seattle Seahawks on December 2, 2012, as a hamstring injury kept the Chicago Bears’ star linebacker out of the final four games of the season. So, in a way, it was fitting that Urlacher and the Bears were able to get closure with the fans who cheered him on but never got a chance to say goodbye. Both sides got that on Monday night, and all was right with the world.
It’s just a shame that ESPN absolutely missed the mark by not showing the Urlacher ceremony at halftime. I mean, what’s the point of getting Brian Urlacher Night at Soldier Field on your network if you’re not even going to show it to your audience? It was a decision that was part senseless, part illogical, and 100 percent wrong.
