It’s another opening-drive touchdown for the Bears, who have put 7 on the board in three of their first four games. Of course this one looked different, as it was a career-long 39-yard touchdown pass for Trubisky, who had just run for 23 yards on a read-option run the play before. Now, that is what a top quarterback prospect is supposed to look like!
The big plays that had eluded the Bears offense in the first few weeks appeared on the team’s opening drive.
It was a much needed fast start for an offense that fielded questions all week regarding Trubisky not playing to his potential. Seeing Trubisky connect on the deep ball eases some of the early game concerns we had entering this week. Now, let’s see if he can keep it up for a full 60 minutes against a defense that has allowed opposing quarterbacks to post a 117.1 rating through three weeks.
