Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Bears. Tannehill was a late addition to the injury report because of a shoulder injury and his playing status was “up in the air” earlier this morning. Apparently, it hasn’t gotten any better between the time the Dolphins arrived to their home stadium and when inactives were announced moments ago.
With Tannehill sidelined, Brock Osweiler gets the ball for Miami with ex-Bears quarterback David Fales serving as his backup. Osweiler is 13-12 as a starting quarterback, with two of those wins coming against the Bears. It would sure be nice if the third time was the charm for Chicago’s defense, which has limited opposing quarterbacks to an 82.1 passer rating this season. It’s the sixth-lowest passer rating allowed by NFL defenses this year.
As for the Bears, no surprises on their list of inactives today:
#Bears Inactives at Dolphins:
No. 31 Marcus Cooper, Sr.
No. 46 Michael Burton
No. 49 Kylie Fitts
No. 69 Rashaad Coward
No. 78 Bryan Witzmann
No. 83 Javon Wims
No. 97 Nick Williams#CHIvsMIA | #DaBears— Chicago Bears (@BearsPR) October 14, 2018
Cornerback Prince Amukamara and wide receiver Anthony Miller are officially back in the fold and active.
Amukamara and Miller both suffered injuries in the Bears’ Week 3 win against the Cardinals. Miller had to leave that game twice because of a shoulder injury, but sitting out Week 4, getting the bye week, and getting fitted to play with a harness should help him reach as full of a recovery as one would expect for this season. Amukamara missed the second half of the Cardinals game with a hamstring injury, but it wasn’t one that was too sever to force an extended absence.
The Bears must feel good about Miller’s playing ability because Javon Wims is listed among the inactives. They must also feel good about Eric Kush’s neck injury, as offensive linemen Rashaad Coward and Bryan Witzmann are also not on the game-day 46-man roster. Fullback Michael Burton, who has played on just 6.3 percent of the offense’s snaps this season, is also inactive.
We’ll have more for you in a little bit when Pre-Gamin’ posts.
