Tarik Cohen Plunges Home With the Game’s First TD After Mitch Trubisky Carved Up the D (VIDEOS)

Chicago Bears

Well, that was certainly an encouraging start.

The Chicago Bears effortlessly marched 75 plays in eight plays, which was capped by this 3-yard Tarik Cohen touchdown run:

Cohen doesn’t get too many goal line carries, so that was a nice bonus. But the star of the drive was definitely Mitch Trubisky, who completed 5 of 5 passes for 61 yards. The biggest chunk of change came on a 35-yard reception for Allen Robinson, who is making his return to the lineup after two weeks off while nursing a groin injury.

The only hiccup on the drive was Cody Parkey missing the extra point. It’s a discouraging thing seeing kickers miss, but extra-points are supposed to be gimmes … even in the new era of football where it amounts to a 33-yard attempt. But if the Bears’ offense can do more of what it did on its opening drive, Parkey will have plenty of opportunities to make up for his gaffe.
