Howard’s 9-yard run gave the Bears the first points of the game and an early lead against the Packers. More than that, Howard was virtually untouched on his way to pay dirt. Bears blockers haven’t always been consistently good as run-blockers this season, but they were better last week and look to be hitting their stride early in this one.
That score was Howard’s sixth of the year and first on the ground since Week 9. A few more of those would certainly be nice as the Bears try to clinch their first division title since 2010. And it sure would be fitting if the team channeled its old-school ways by punching the ball through the line, dominating the ground game, and getting it done with defense.
