With the football season in our rear-view mirror, we return to our lives monitoring the seemingly never-ending roster churn.
The Chicago Bears have signed a wave of players to future/reserve contracts. Let’s check the out:
Many of these names should look familiar to Bears fans who were on board since the start of the summer, as nine of the players signing reserve/future contracts spent time with the team’s practice squad during the regular season. Wide receiver Cyril Grayson was the only one who wasn’t with the team in camp this summer and didn’t play during the 2018 season.
The two brand-new names to the group are linebackers Jameer Thurman and James Vaughters.
Thurman, who was signed late last week, played his college ball at Indiana State and was a local standout who played prep football at Proviso West. Vaughters is a Stanford product who played with the Calagary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. In fact, Vaughters and Thurman were teammates on Calgary’s Grey Cup championship-winning team. Perhaps that championship pedigree is exactly what the Bears need to push them over the top next year.
