We have long known who the Chicago Bears’ preseason opponents would be this summer, but times and official dates hadn’t been previously disclosed. But now that things are officially set, let’s take some time and start planning accordingly.
It’s neat that all the Bears’ preseason games are night games. And while it’s a bit jarring that not one of the team’s exhibition contests will have a traditional-ish noon start, it’s worth noting two of the team’s first three regular season games are night games in prime time. Maybe it’s a coincidence, but perhaps the preseason schedule is what it is so it can help the Bears get their bodies and minds acclimated to preparing for night games. After all, we can count on plenty of action under the lights featuring the Bears this fall and winter.
And since the Bears don’t have a traditional noon Sunday start until Week 8 against the Chargers, it’s possible there is something to all these night preseason games.
In any case, now that we have the regular season and preseason schedules officially locked down, we can move on and plan our summer, fall, and winter accordingly. I hear Miami is beautiful in February.
