Khalil Mack is a perfect blend of what you would want in a football player in real life, and the upcoming Madden NFL ’20 game will reflect that. Mack has received a 99 rating, which puts him in an exclusive club joining Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner and Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald as defenders to have received this honor from the video game giant.
The 99 rating is the highest that can be given out in a Madden game, and there is no doubt Mack earned it. Mack came up with 12.5 sacks, 10 tackles-for-loss, 18 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles, two recoveries, and a pick-six. He generated a ton of problems for opposing offenses last year with his speed, power, agility, pass-rushing productivity, and run-stopping presence. Mack did it all in 2018, so any rating lower than 99 would have been an insult to the player, as well as the gaming community.
More importantly, Mack transformed the Bears from a fringe team to a Super Bowl contender, brought new life to the franchise, turned the NFC North on its head. And while I’m not sure there are ratings for any of those categories, I assume Mack would get a 99 rating there, too.
