Mitch Trubisky is the unquestioned QB1 in Bears camp. But if Chicago needs a body off the bench in a pinch, Matt Nagy made a strong case with some impressive throws at practice on Monday.

Yes, that’s right. Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy was unleashing the cannon during Monday’s training camp practice on the campus of Oliver Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. Nagy, a quarterback at Delaware and in the Arena Football League, showed he still has it — even if his playing days are long behind him. Good stuff!
Monday’s practice was a bit sluggish at times, so it was refreshing (and even a bit energizing) to see the head coach take over QB1 responsibilities during some one-on-one drills. Perhaps Trubisky (who watched Nagy shine on his throws) was paying close attention and picked up on how to properly drop those deep dimes into the bucket.
