David Montgomery Will *NOT* Play In Tonight’s Preseason Game Against the Giants

Chicago Bears

I hope you enjoyed what you saw from rookie running back David Montgomery in his preseason debut last week, because the encore performance might not come for a while.

Montgomery was listed among the list of Bears players who will not play in Friday’s preseason game against the Giants. Montgomery tallied 46 scrimmage yards on six touches last weeks, dazzling on-lookers, coaches, ex-players, fans, and analysts alike with an array of juke-moves, tackle-breaking, and a touchdown run. Because Montgomery looked so good last week, we figured there was a chance he might have played himself out of the preseason rotation. At least for one week, that appears to be the case.

Here is the entire list of players who are not expected to participate in tonight’s preseason showdown:

After taking three snaps from new center James Daniels and executing three hand-offs to Mike Davis, quarterback Mitch Trubisky is sitting out the entire game. That means the Chase Daniel show will be in full effect out at MetLife Stadium. The other name who stands out from the bunch is starting right guard Kyle Long, who did not travel with the team two days after he started a fight with rookie defensive lineman Jalen Dalton.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you shortly.
