A familiar face is re-joining the Chicago Bears:
#Bears roster move:
We have been assigned the following player via waivers:
OL Tommy Doles— Chicago Bears (@BearsPR) August 25, 2019
The Bears claimed offensive lineman Tommy Doles on waivers from the Falcons.
If that name sounds familiar to you, don’t be alarmed. This is Doles’ third stint with the team in 2019. The Northwestern product signed with the team as an undrafted free agent, was let go, then brought back shortly thereafter. Surely, Doles hopes the third time is the charm in Chicago and this new opportunity will allow him to stick around for more than a minute.
The Bears needed some offensive line help after injuries to offensive linemen Rashaad Coward (elbow) and T.J. Clemmings (leg) popped up over the last two weeks. At this point, Chicago will take whatever healthy bodies it can get before its preseason finale against the Titans. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Doles (a guard by trade) takes some reps at tackle to fill the void left behind by Coward and Clemmings.
