Safety Eddie Jackson (shoulder) and right guard Kyle Long (hip) were limited participants in Thursday’s practice. Those are a pair of new names to the injury report, whose appearances on the injury report come as a bit of a surprise. Limiting both on Thursday could be an example of the coaching staff giving a pair of veterans an easier workout day. After all, long-term health for starters and regulars has been a priority for this coaching staff.
Nose tackle Eddie Goldman (oblique) and tight end Trey Burton (groin) joined Jackson in being limited on Thursday. Goldman and Burton, who were both on last week’s injury report and listed as questionable to play because of their respective injuries, saw action against the Broncos. So long as there are no setbacks, it is reasonable to think both will continue to be given lighter practice loads to keep both in line to play on Monday.
As expected, Bilal Nichols did not practice on Thursday. The broken hand injury he suffered on Sunday against Denver figures to keep him off the practice field for a bit, or at least until he can get fitted for a club or protective cast. We will continue to monitor his status as time moves forward.
