An early injury to a returning star isn’t what the Bears had in mind on their first defensive drive:
Akiem Hicks is down on the field after a run play. Does not look related to knee injury that kept him out last Sunday against Vikings.

Akiem Hicks argues against going to the #Bears' locker room. He heads to the blue medical tent instead. Holding his left arm — unclear.

Defensive lineman Akiem Hicks was escorted off the field on the Bears’ first defensive drive in Sunday’s game against the Raiders. And while Hicks was holding his left arm as he walked off the field (meaning his injury absence wasn’t related to the knee issue that kept him off the field last week), losing Hicks for any reason is not ideal.
We will continue to monitor Hicks’ injury situation as this game progresses. Hopefully the offense scores enough to ease the pain of losing a star defender early.
