So, there’s your explanation for the Marcus Peters trade earlier today, eh?
With a shorthanded secondary and the need to make a push the rest of the way, the Rams surprised folks by trading away cornerback Marcus Peters to the Ravens. But it’s because they had another whopper of a deal in the pipeline:
It’s happening: Former Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the LA Rams for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source tells ESPN.

Ramsey, who turns 25 later this month, is a star who desperately wanted traded, and now he gets his wish – and the Rams paid through the nose to make it happen.
At 3-3, the Rams were already in danger of slipping too far behind the undefeated 49ers and 5-1 Seahawks in the NFC West, and apparently weren’t content to risk letting this year languish. The Rams host the Bears on November 17.
Like we said earlier, the NFL has seen an increase in trades in recent years, so perhaps today’s dealing is just a sign of what’s to come in advance of the 3 p.m. CT trade deadline on October 29.
