Do you believe in miracles? Because a red-zone touchdown TOTALLY counts as a miracle.
The Bears just capped an 11-play, 75-yard drive with this touchdown run from David Montgomery:

I guess Matt Nagy wasn’t lying when he said his run-game play-calling was horse-poop.
Prior to that touchdown drive, the Bears had gone without a touchdown in five red-zone trips — which is tremendously awful. So much so, the team was booed off the field after taking a half-time lead. That’s a first!
Back to the story of the game to this point, which is the running game. Montgomery now has 18 carries for 112 yards, which included a 55-yard burst in the first half that showed that good things can happen if you commit to a running game. Now it’s up to the Bears defense to get another stop of what has been a sleepy Chargers offense for most of the first half. And then maybe score some more points on offense with the help a new-found running game.
