There is much to be determined when it comes to the future of the 2020 Chicago Bears, but one thing we do know is their list of opponents and where the games will take place.
Your first glance into 2020:
In addition to their annual showdowns with the Lions, Vikings, and Packers, the Bears will have home dates against the Buccaneers, Texans, Saints, Colts, and Giants. That means the 2020 home slate will feature games against three division winners (Texans, Saints, and Packers) and a divisional runner-up (Vikings). And just as they did in 2019, the Soldier Field faithful will get a first-hand look at a quarterback the Bears passed on drafting back in 2017. Honestly, I’m just getting over the Patrick Mahomes thing and am not yet prepared to deal with Deshaun Watson coming to town (especially knowing he was our favorite quarterback prospect in that class).
From a fan’s perspective, I don’t think you could have asked for a better travel schedule. A trip to Nashville sounds like a good time. As does a second consecutive trip to Los Angeles to face the Rams, this time in their brand new stadium — provided the thing gets done on time thanks to budgetary concerns that have helped pushed things back. The Falcons’ stadium is still relatively new, and Chicago has a history of traveling to Atlanta to support its teams. Even trips to Carolina and Jacksonville to play the Panthers and Jaguars (respectively) have pros that could arguably outweigh the cons. Also worth noting is that the only times the Bears will play 2019 playoff teams on the road will be when they travel to play the Packers, Vikings, and Titans.
The road to redemption isn’t going to be an easy one for the Bears. But at least we know who will be providing the challenges in a year that will bring a reckoning to Chicago football one way or another.
