It was only a matter of time until the Chicago Bears chimed in with a statement in the wake of the COVID-19 situation.
And, as expected, the team is taking extreme measures in the name of public safety:

The Bears are the latest NFL team to take precautionary action in an attempt to stem the spread of COVID-19. Among the measures taken by the team: Halas Hall has been closed temporarily, team business air travel has been suspended, pre-draft prospect visits have been canceled, and employees have been asked to work from home.
And as a result of the state of Illinois’ ban on events exceeding 1,000 people (as part of a preventative measure that will keep Chicago’s sports teams from playing home games until May), the tam also announced the cancellation of its draft party.

There isn’t much to add here. These last 48 hours have been surreal. But in the end, it comes down to the last line in the team’s official statement on the pandemic: “The health and safety of our players, coaches, and all staff is our utmost priority.”
As it should be.
