Foles Flashback, Watch Monty’s Feet, Nagy Gives Back, and Other Bears Bullets

How many times around the block would be considered a healthy walk in times like this? Because I’d like to venture out, but don’t want to stray too far. I just want to get some fresh air for a few moments.

  • The Bears are paying good money for *THIS* Jimmy Graham to show up in 2020:
  • Watching Graham as a member of the Bears is going to be fascinating. Does he have talent? Yes. Is he the guy he was with the Saints? No. Is he an upgrade from what the team at the position last year? Yes. Will he provide a stop-gap at a position the Bears need to find a long-term solution? We’ll see.
  • The last two years in Green Bay were ugly for Graham. There is no denying that, and yet, he still made some highlight reel plays. I’m still uncomfortable with the price tag, especially knowing what needs the Bears still have at other positions. But Graham sounds like someone motivated to prove guys like me that he is worth every penny. I certainly wouldn’t mind being proven wrong here.
  • Whenever football gets going again, are the Bears going to re-create last year’s kicking competition with tight ends? Because that’s what it looks like:
  • So. Many. Tight. Ends.
  • This is frustrating to watch, but necessary:
  • Thinking about the number of times Mitch Trubisky missed throws like this is agonizing. No quarterback makes all the throws, but enough of these types of misses have piled up over the course of Trubisky’s time as QB1 to lead to the Bears’ acquisition of Nick Foles.
  • Foles flashback:
  • Sure, Foles is great here. But that Raiders pass rush is WOOF. No wonder they drafted Khalil Mack with the fifth overall pick in the next year’s draft.
  • There is a decent chance I was watching that game. The Bears weren’t set to play until Monday night, so I had to be watching some sort of football.
  • Unrelated: The Bears won their Week 9 matchup against the Packers on Monday Night Football by a 27-20 score. Josh McCown threw for 272 yards, two touchdowns, and posted a 90.7 passer rating. But that game was more well-known for Shea McClellin knocking out Aaron Rodgers. Since then, the Bears have won just once in their last six trips to Lambeau Field. Ouch.

  • Smart decision:
  • The Cowboys have two kickers now:
  • A year ago at this time, I would have been banging the table for the Bears to sign Greg Zuerlein. But after his success rate dipped to 72.7 percent in 2019, I found myself far less willing to think about bringing him in for kicks and giggles. Kickers, man … they can be so fickle.
  • This is awesome:
  • It feels good to give, and I love seeing the Bears reach out and help in the community:
  • I needed this from our friends at BN Bulls:
