Now that the NFL Draft is over and the first wave of priority undrafted free agents have been signed, you can expect teams around the league to starting bringing in depth players to round out their rosters.
And for the Chicago Bears, they’re bringing a familiar face back to the room.
News from NFL insider Adam Caplan:
DT John Jenkins is returning for a second stint with Da Bears.

Indeed, the Bears have signed defensive tackle John Jenkins.
This is a second tour of duty in Chicago for Jenkins, who played with the team in 2017 during John Fox’s last year coaching the Bears. And it’s also his second time linking up with Bears GM Ryan Pace, as he was also drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 2013 when Pace was the team’s Director of Player Personnel.
Since leaving the Bears, Jenkins, 30, has made stops with the New York Giants (7 games in 2018) and Miami Dolphins (16 games) in 2019. Jenkins is a nose tackle by trade who checks in at 6-foot-4 and 246 pounds. He will slide in as NT2 behind Eddie Goldman. And while it is too early to project what a season-opening 55-man roster (remember, expanded rosters as part of the new CBA begin this year) will look like in 2020, having a backup nose tackle with 82 games worth of playing experience won’t hurt.
