The fifth-round rookie made a heckuva play to come back to the Mitchell Trubisky pass when things broke down in the early part of the play. Credit Trubisky for not panicking when his first read wasn’t available. Give him kudos for extending the play while keeping his head up and eyes down field. And hand out some dap for an excellent play to cap off a wonderful first half. Was it a perfect throw? No. Was it good enough? For sure.
Trubisky is 13/18 (72.2%) for 159 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a whopping 136.1 passer rating. That’s a far more impressive first half than last week. And it’s a main reason why the Bears built up a 17-0 lead.
