The Chicago Bears’ problems stopping the run have been no secret. And to that end, we’ve been actively suggesting the team explore signing free agent Damon “Snacks” Harrison to help alleviate their issues.
But even if the Bears were going to do that, it might be a while until it can happen:
Free agent DT Damon Harrison tells me this morning he is going into the CoVID protocol into and over the weekend, so he can presumably be clear for a scheduled visit with the #Seahawks actually not until next week. So the actual visit is *not this week.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson tweets that Harrison’s scheduled visit with the Seahawks is next week. Previous reports had Harrison lined up to visit Seattle this week. Moreover, Harrison hinted that a possible Bears visit would come *AFTER* his Seattle trip. But with the Seahawks visit being postponed to next week as he enters COVID protocols, a potential Bears visit gets kicked further down the road. Bummer.
Part of me feels as if Harrison’s schedule is the major hold-up here. However, if Chicago truly wants to add Harrison to a defense that sorely needs him, the front office needs to put a little pep in its step. Otherwise, a player we’ve seen as an option worth checking out since early August wouldn’t be in a position to join the team until more than five or even six games into the season. And while I’m not saying it would be too late to add him then, the more the Bears wait, the less likely it is Harrison will be the fix.
