Positive tests continue to roll in for the Tennessee Titans, who’ve had 13 positive cases of COVID-19 after two more popped up in the latest round of testing.
That the number continues to grow since their outbreak was first reported on Tuesday is troubling on several levels. Obviously, health and safety for players, coaches, staffers, and others throughout the organization is a top concern. And from a purely football perspective, the increasing number of positives within the organization could impact more than the team’s now postponed game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“At this rate, if there are more positives this weekend in Tennessee, next weekend’s Titans-Bills game would be in jeopardy,” Schefter tweeted. OOF!
Rearranging the schedule to fit a Titans-Steelers matchup is work, but doable. Trying to do that for two games is a bit more of a challenge. And while the NFL will cross that bridge when it gets there, crossing it at all is unfortunate.
News of two new positives in Titans camp today comes a day after the NFL implemented enhanced COVID protocols for its teams:
