The New England Patriots are being moved to Monday Night Football for a second consecutive week.

Last week’s Patriots-Chiefs game was postponed after New England quarterback Cam Newton and Chiefs practice squad QB Jordan Ta’amu tested positive for COVID-19 before the teams were scheduled to take off. Now, it’s the Week 5 Patriots-Broncos game getting pushed back due to positive COVID tests. All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore and practice squad defensive lineman Bill Murray tested positive this week.
A revamped schedule hasn’t been shared yet. But it’s likely that Patriots-Broncos game will slide into the early time slot like it did for last week’s postponed game. That would mean the originally scheduled MNF tilt between the Saints and Chargers will get started a smidge later than planned. TV scheduling is a minor inconvenience of trying to play through the COVID-19 pandemic. But the NFL should consider itself lucky that games have been just delayed and not cancelled outright.
UPDATE: Tuesday Night Football is coming because of positive COVID tests in Tennessee:
Titans-Bills game scheduled for Sunday is being moved to Tuesday at 6 pm as long as there are no more positive tests with Tennessee, per sources.
Bills-Chiefs game being switched from next Thursday to Sunday but goes back it more positive tests in Tennessee, per source.
